When To Start Packing Boxes For Moving

Start as early as possible!

Do not to leave packing your removal boxes until the day before you move (yes - it does happen!)

Leaving the packing until the last minute will cause stress and will mean that you do not wrap fragile items properly or that the boxes do not get labelled. This can cause damage, breakages or items to get lost during transit.

The earlier you start packing the better – this gives you time to do a clear out and sort all your belongings out.

Ideally, as soon as the contracts have been exchanged, you should start packing Heavy Duty removal boxes full of items that are not used on a regular basis – this will give you a good start.

You should then aim to have everything boxed up and ready to go as soon as your estate agent has called you to release your new keys.

Don’t forget, the last box you pack should be a survival kit of essentials that are easily accessible when you get to your new house.
